Inter National Institute of Fashion Design is the first fashion institute in the world to have showcased its students’ collection at the World’s most acclaimed independent platform during LONDON FASHION WEEK for 8 successful seasons.
It’s our endeavor to promote rich Indian heritage and craft on an international platform and have presented its students pan-India with this unique opportunity to create a futuristic footprint using historical assets of India. At INDIA DAY during London Fashion Week, every season, talented young designers create theme-based collections that highlight Indian handlooms, weaves, art, craft, embroideries, fabrics, and more. These collections beautifully combine tradition and modernity, offering the world a glimpse into India’s rich textile and handicraft history. On 15th FEBRUARY 2020, history was created on the ramp at London Fashion Week. In association with the Indian High Commission, we presented a spectacular showcase of authentic Indian textile drapes and styles of SAREES from various States of India that sparkled the ramp with eclectic hues, rich fabrics, and weaves. Since 2016, the High Commission of India in London has been providing constant support and encouragement to these young INIFD designers. They host a magnificent ceremony at INDIA House in London, where the designers are honored. The talent and creativity of INIFD’s aspiring designers have garnered attention in international media, securing them recognition in renowned magazines such as VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, and Elle, among others.

Our young designers have travelled across the globe to showcase at World’s most prestigious Fashion Week – NEW YORK FASHION WEEK for 8 consecutive seasons . It is a celebration of the craftsmanship and our rich cultural heritage.
‘Indian Fashion Trunk’ during New York Fashion Week is a powerhouse source for fashion . The show captures the spirit of India with students coming from diverse backgrounds. It is a depiction of India’s rich culture, indigenous craftsmanship, art, design, originality, textiles from different states of India highlighted by the use of vibrant colors with rich deep hues and fabrics .
The fusion of traditional Indian elements with contemporary aesthetics, along with the mastery of movement, weaves, and draping, sets these talented and dynamic INIFDians apart, showcasing the allure of Indian fashion on a global stage.
INIFD presents Gennext Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI
INIFD presents GENNEXT at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI is the most coveted talent discovery program that has always given a platform to young designers of the country to showcase their creative aesthetics. It is a platform that enables fresh talent to have the best possible exposure into the world of fashion and make it big nationally and internationally.
Most sought-after platform ‘INIFD Presents GenNext’ has constantly nurtured over 250 designers season after season from GENNEXT to top celebrity designers which include Masaba Gupta, Rahul Mishra, Nachiket Barve, Gaurang, Asa Kazingmei, Mohammad Mazhar & more have made their debut under the ‘GENNEXT’ designer program at the Main Show Area at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI while sharing the same Ramp with top designers of the country.
Each season, these designers are meticulously selected by a jury comprising top designers, corporate leaders in the fashion industry, and eminent media personalities.
INIFD Launchpad during Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI
Season after season, the INIFD Launchpad show has been looked forward by fashion followers. The very creative and talented design students of INIFD, selected from all over India, display their versatile collections to a very appreciative and encouraging audience at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI. INIFD has been providing its student designers a direct chance to showcase from their Class Desk to the Ramp of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI while sharing the same Ramp with top Designers. INIFD existing students from all part of the nation present a wonderful show together.
INIFD Interior Design winner students design the sets of designer fashion shows and INIFD Fashion Design winner students present their wonderful collections. Star Bollywood Showstopper like Neha Dhupia, Soha Ali Khan, Gauahar Khan, Hina Khan walk the ramp for INIFD Launchpad during Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI.
INIFD recognizes the future of the design world, showcasing the creativity and talent of these design students on a national platform. The final selection of INIFD design students is done during ‘The Design Festival’, a unique and exclusive platform where eminent jury members select INIFD Fashion and Interior design students from pan India.
